When calling all Windows client and server systems, running clients may need to restart the MSDTC service to complete these steps. To restart the MSDTC service, follow these steps:
For Windows 8.1 and Windows 8
- From the home screen, swipe right to open these charms, select search and search for cmd. (Or, if you are using a keyboard and mouse, format with cmd from the start screen.) In the search results or right-click mouse and click Command Prompt, then select Run as administrator.
For Windows 7 and earlier
- On Windows, press Logo + R, cmd category in the Run box, and then press Enter. Right click on cmd then select Run as administrator.
type stop msdtc and press ENTER.
net msdtcand press Enter.
Open the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) Services snap-in as a component. To do this, click the “Start” button, and then – “Run”. Enter dcomcnfg.exe and click OK.
Expand Component Services, expand Computers, and then expand My Computer.
Right-click “Computer” and select “Properties.”
Click Monthly MSDTC Account, then click Security Setup.
Change the history in the DCT account to NT AUTHORITY NetworkService. If a password is required, enter a blank password.
Click OK twice.
For Windows XP Or Windows Server 2003
Starting with Windows XP and / or continuing with Windows Server 2004, the MSDTC service should not start if and only the Windows account
NT AUTHORITY NetworkService .
If someone changes the account to a report other than NetworkService, part of the distributed transaction will fail. The transaction fails because the MSDTC service is unable to perform two-way authentication with other celebrations involved in the recovery. Local transactions, which typically use MSDTC, can also fail.

You can change the entry to perform Windows Authentication when people perform XA recovery processing on the XA database, much like they do in an Oracle database.
However, on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP, you cannot change the account. Instead, you must provide the NetworkService account on the computer that will surely run the MSDTC service with the permissions and assignments required to perform a single XA restore operation.
The exact way you configure XA and restore operations depends on each XA database. Typically you will needAdd the account computer, laptop, or computer that uses the MSDTC service to the list of users who can configure XA recovery in the XA database. Since the NetworkService account is illegal, you must also grant the NetworkService account access to the folder where the XA DLL is located. Edit
To which account running the MSDTC platform belongs to the NetworkService account, follow these steps.
Click Start, select Run, type regedit and click OK.
Find and click the following subkeys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft MSDTC.
If the following entries may be present, skip to step 6:
- On the Edit menu, choose New and click DWORD Value.
- Type TurnOffRpcSecurity and press Enter.
How do I fix Msdtc problems?
Experts say errors can occur if MSDTC transaction forwarding is not configured correctly.Verify that NetBIOS ID resolution between the BizTalk server and the remote servers is successful.Make sure that the firewall between the BizTalk server and the remote servers is not blocking any locations required for RPC out-of-the-box dynamic mapping.

- Right-click TurnOffRpcSecurity, then click Edit.
- In the Edit DWORD Value Package Clause dialog box, enter 1 and click OK.
Set true DWORD value for
- Right-click AllowOnlySecureRpcCalls and choose Modify.
- In the Change Double Word Value dialog box, enter a price of 0 and click OK.
- Set the

- Right-click FallbackToUnsecureRPCIfNeeded and select Modify.
- In the Change Value dialog box, change the value to 0 and click OK.
After making changes on the PC, you need to restart the msdtc service. To restart the service do the following for msdtc:
- Click Start, Run, type cmd and click OK.
- Type Stop
net msdtcand press Enter.
net start, msdtcand press Enter.

How do I install Msdtc service?
